Kora Daro II Village in Rantau Panjang Subdistrict, Ogan Ilir Regency, has significant potential for developing duck farming, however, hatching efficiency remains low because farmers have not yet mastered artificial incubation management and lack sufficient breeding females. The use of incubators is still suboptimal due to limited knowledge regarding egg selection, temperature and humidity regulation, egg turning, and Day Old Duck (DOD) handling. This community service program aims to improve farmers’ knowledge and skills related to stregthening the management of duck egg incubation through targeted socialization and technical training. The methods applied include lectures, interactive discussions, demonstrations of incubator operation, introduction to proper egg selection procedures, and explanations of technical factors influencing hatching success. Educational leaflets were also distributed as supplementary learning materials. The results show that farmers were highly enthusiastic during the socialization sessions and practical demonstration. Baseline data revealed that the initial hatching rate was only 20% (60 ducklings hatched from 200 eggs), indicating an urgent need to enhance farmers’ technical capacity. Through this program, farmers gained a clearer understanding of appropriate egg selection, stability of temperature and humidity, incubator sanitation, and risk management during power outages. This community service activity is expected to improve farmers’ competence in operating incubators and applying standardized incubation practices, thereby increasing hatching performance and strengthening the self-sufficiency of duck seedling production in Kota Daro II Village.
