Abstract

Jambi City is one of the areas that has quite large fisheries potential, one of which is in Teluk Lake located in Olak Kemang Village. Teluk Lake has high fisheries potential. The fisheries produced are utilized by the surrounding community to become processed fish products. Vacuum packaging techniques are currently trending packaging, especially for processed fish-based products. Processed fish products, especially in the Olak Kemang Village community, are only packaged using non-vacuum packaging so that they have a short shelf life and their sales are still only around Jambi province, so it is necessary to socialize the application of vacuum seal technology to increase the durability of processed products and modern packaging designs. The purpose of community service is to socialize to the community how to use a vacuum sealer on processed products, especially processed products in the fisheries sector. Independent community service was carried out in Olak Kemang Village, Danau Teluk District, Jambi City and was attended by the community. The community was very enthusiastic about following it. The presentation of the material presented is about vacuum seal technology, how to use it, and the benefits obtained. This vacuum sealer technology can be used by the public to package processed fish-based products to make them last longer
