Socialization of Local Chicken Cultivation at the Raudhatul Muhajirin Islamic Boarding School, Tangkit Baru Village, Sungai Gelam DistrictMuara Jambi Regency

Abstract

Local chickens in Indonesia are a natural wealth which is a national asset that has high value. This local chicken business can be used for egg and meat production purposes so that it can provide adequate economic benefits for all actors, namely, breeders, cultivators, traders, distributors and retailers. The aim of this community service activity is to open business opportunities for raising local village chickens with better capabilities. Apart from that, to increase the knowledge of the community and female students, especially at the Raudhatul Muhajirin Islamic Boarding School, Tangkit Baru Village, Sungai Gelam District, Muaro Jambi Regency, in increasing knowledge and also profits for the livestock community in order to meet family needs and provide good quality food for the family and the wider community.  The method used in this community service is direct counseling and discussion, while the target group is free-range chicken farmers and female students at the Raudhatul Muhajirin Islamic Boarding School located in Tangkit Baru Village, Sungai Gelam District, Muaro Jambi Regency. It is hoped that farmer farmers will be interested and can develop the business of raising free-range chickens so that they obtain a source of animal protein that is always available, cheap and highly nutritious.  This service activity explains the things that need to be considered in developing native chickens starting from seeds, feed, rearing systems which include housing, disease prevention and marketing, so that you can develop native chicken cultivation businesses, increase the productivity of native chickens and can be used as a commercial farming business. which can increase the income of farmers and breeders and the skills of female students in entrepreneurship and in the context of alleviating poverty and improving the community's economy.
